WebJun 15, 2013 · Cython is another package which is built to convert Python-like statemets into compiled code. The language is actually a superset of Python which acts as a sort of hybrid between Python and C. By adding type annotations to Python code and running it through the Cython interpreter, we obtain fast compiled code. Since cython structures can be mapped from simple python dictionaries, we take an input of one, construct the structure on the fly in the function and then use our Fortran subroutine. The return type can also be coerced into a list, and that’s what can be printed or manipulated further.
