WebVice barrel by sandwiching gas block between leather pads and soft wood blocks (pine). Can find leather squares at arts & crafts store. Torch evenly where muzzle break meets barrel for 2 minutes. Handheld torches can be found at Home Depot or Lowes. Put crescent wrench on muzzle break flats and basically sit on the wrench. REMEMBER!!! The mod 1 I installed a brake on just had a crush washer, and wasn't all that hard to get off.

I picked one up for less than $20 and use a BEV block. You could also clamp the barrel between two pieces of wood and it will hold it fairly securely. If it's not too tight, you can probably get it off but it's going to be next to impossible to get the new one torqued and timed properly without being able to get it clamped down.
