So if it doesn't smell like that, maybe it's just gunk or "wax", but if left unattended it might get infected. WebGroomer suggested plucking my 6mo old poodle’s ear hair and I agreed. There were no signs of infection and her vet appointment a couple weeks ago showed no signs of ear infection. I frequently wipe her ears out with daily ear pads because of her breed. Only reason we agreed to pluck is the abundance of hair and I was worried it would matte.
