WebApr 1, 2024 · My Smart Card Reader does not read my DoD CAC so that I can log into my Government Portal. The SC Reader is listed in my Device manager but does not read the card. This seems to be a very common problem but I can not find a solution to fix it. This thread is locked. WebMay 30, 2024 · 1 Answer. You could use PC/SC to check for card removal. In windows it is implemented in WinSCard library. See this SO answer. There is also a C# implementation pcsc-sharp. The library seems to work great. Thanks. However, there is still the challenge of correlating X509Certificate2 to the smart card reader.

WebJun 7, 2024 · Right click Start button to open Device Manager, find the SD card reader, open and choose Driver tab, try Roll back. If not available try Uninstall, restart PC to reinstall Driver.
